Hmm, baseball can be really interesting.

Tonight was a decisive semifinals game between NY Yankees and Boston Red Sox and it was crazy. Red Sox was just doing extreemely good (5-2) till almost the end and then they got tired and let Yankees reach a draw. During two additional innings (the normal time of game is 9 innings) the tension was totally high and finally Yankees got a home run. This game took more than 4 hours. Imagine those New Yorkers who could go home only half past 12! When I watched a game on stadium in Atlanta the game took also about 4 hours. Because then the game was not so important, many people left stadium before the end. But now it is just too interesting to miss.

As you might have noticed, I have added a Pictures section to my blog. See the link on the left sidebar (pictures are located in hot.ee server). There are pictures from earlier time, but also from my last visit to Unicoi state park which is in Northern Georgia.

Some interesting bits from my life. I received my first credit card in US - an American Express Blue student card. It is the most beautiful card I have seen in my life. You can partly see through it, it has a blue hologram, and the magnetic strip is narrower and in silver color. Actually Americans have quite advanced card system - you can have a credit card in a size of 2x4 cm and it has already hole in it, so it is effectively part of a keychain. Why American Express? Because they are the only institution who is willing to give credit card (note, it is not a debit card) to a person with zero credit history. The credit limit is quite decent in Estonian terms, over $2000. Now I am already waiting that after 6 months I start getting letters from all possible credit card companies offering me credit.

Another piece of information is that US Army, particularly Selective Service System has sent me a letter asking me to come to Army (YOU CAN HAVE IT ALL. As a citizen-soldier you can earn money for college, find career opportunities, find adventure and challenge, and serve your contry and state). I am still not sure that I was supposed to receive it, but I will consult with some specialist on this. Don't be surprised, if you find me next fighting in Iraq :) BTW, it is cool to see great patriotic advertisements on TV calling new recruits to joing the adventure.

And one more. America Online is the worst company ever. I once tried their service for 2 days because I did not have broadband connection yet. Well, the software one has to install to use AOL made my computer hang, I could not install any more programs etc. After haveing heard long sales pitch when I called to cancel connection I received mail "Thank you for giving us a second chance ...", then received mail saying "now you contract is closed, but you can still reactivate ..." Now today received a mail telling "We are sorry to lose you as a customer ... But did you know that an exciting new version of AOL is now available ...". Jesus. I will never install this largest virus on earth on my computer ever again.

Latvia chose a statment to use in country promotion. The chosen statement is "Latvia is a key to Baltics" and I think it is excellent, although Evelin Lambot, developer of "Welcome to ESTonia" does not share my view. Well, Welcome to Estonia is fun, but it really does not make any sens.

Opossum is dead!!!

There was a real opossum yesterday around my house. This opossum had been acting really strangely, running around, chasing its tail and not being afraid of people. Possibly it had this mad animal disease - will get to know later after tests are taken. Anyway, this small animal (about 40 cm in length) got killed by a neighbor using shovel. Strangely enough it already seemed the opossum is dead when it suddenly started moving again. After checking some internet resources I now know that opossums tend to fool enemies by playing dead. Vott.

Have to get my pictures of opossum and some cool insects on the web, but it somehow I have not found the initiative to make it happen ... but they will come.
